Honda Partner in F1 2018: Out of Sauber, appeared Toro Rosso
Although the 2017 F1 race still leaves 9 more series, but it seems the F1 teams have begun busy to prepare and strategize them for the 2018 season race. That is also being done by the Italian team, Toro Rosso. Currently growing rumors that Toro Rosso will use the services of Honda as their engine supplier to navigate the upcoming 2018 season race.
Rumors are further confirmed by the talks conducted between Helmut Marko Red Bull with Honda head Masashi Yamamoto on last Tuesday. It seems Honda is very serious to have a second team in Formula 1 land jet racing, more serious than their effort to find out why their machine is damaged continuously. Rumor talks Toro Rosso and Honda sticking out after previously Sauber announced a cancellation of cooperation with Honda as their engine supplier.
Helmut Marko also said that it is not impossible if Red Bull team interested to switch to Honda in the future if the performance of Honda is getting better and can compete with Ferrari and Mercedes. And if it happens then it will be a solution for Honda if McLaren choose to terminate their cooperation in F1.
In fact, by 2015, Red Bull will want to withdraw from its deal with Renault and start talks with Honda, Mercedes and Ferrari about their machine suppliers. However, due to several reasons ultimately Red Bull still choose Renault as a supplier of their car engine.
If Toro Rosso formally agrees with Honda as their engine supplier, Toro Rosso will also need a contract for their gearbox supplier. In this case, McLaren is potentially a supplier of gearboxes for Honda which later could be offered by the Japanese manufacturer into a package of offers against Torro Rosso.
McLaren's contract with Honda itself still continues until next year, but McLaren is still doing a thorough evaluation in advance following the poor performance of Honda engines 2 years lately. However, looking at current conditions McLaren will have difficulty if not using the services of Honda as their engine supplier, given Ferrari and Mercedes have explained that they will not supply the engine to the McLaren team. Approximately how yaa map of F1 racing competition in 2018, will it still be dominated by Mercedes and Ferrari? Come on, give your comment down here.
